Welcome

Welcome to the main page for the University of Maine at Farmington’s Education Center. The purpose of this project is to expand the sustainability efforts of the University through multi-level curriculum for UMF students, pre K-12 teachers and students, and community members. We will attempt to do this by:

  • providing information on “green” features of LEED certified buildings
  • sharing ways to make a positive impact on our own homes
  • reaching out to all audiences through publication, statewide meetings, and conference presentations
  • offering tours to teachers and students, individuals, and community organizations
  • using the Education Center as a teaching tool for area teachers
  • establishing a culture of environmental sustainability
