Welcome

Welcome to the main page for the University of Maine at Farmington’s Education Center. This project expands the sustainability efforts of the university through multi-level curriculum for UMF students, pre K-12 teachers and students, and community members. We will do this by:

  • providing information on “green” features of LEED certified buildings
  • sharing ways to make a positive impact on our own homes
  • reaching out to all audiences through publication, statewide meetings, and conference presentations
  • offering tours to teachers and students, individuals, and community organizations
  • using the Education Center as a teaching tool for area teachers
  • establishing a culture of environmental sustainability
